This is not only true in the US according to Paul Washer, but there are so many parallels in Singapore where I am.
No, let's not even talk about others, because this totally spoke to me and there's much reflection to be done indeed!

Whew... do we all need to hear this kind of teaching or what? I certainly appreciate Paul Washer's message since my calling and heart are to exhort the church and remind them that God requires obedience, to fear and to love Him. Yeshua did not come to take away one jot or tittle of the Law (Torah), He came to fulfill it! He then summarized the two greatest commandments to be followed, which gives the ability to live in accordance with God's commandments.
The Hellenized (Greek/Roman'ized) church pushes aside the very essence of Yeshua in all His Jewishness - His Jewish way of thinking and living! As you know, but so many Christians don't think about (or don't connect the dots), Yeshua was a sinless, 'Torah' observant Jew. He did not follow some of the teachings of the Pharisees and Sadducees of His day and those who proceeded them, as is readily apparent in the Gospels, because they, like the church today, had attached meaningless understandings and traditions to God's commandments and had made the word of God of no effect (Mark 7:6-13). God forgive us! May all who want to know God, and be known by God, truly repent and turn to Him with all their hearts - fear and love Him, which will naturally produce a desire for obedience! Then God can save them through their faith in the One He sent, His Son, Yeshua HaMashiach, by the power of His Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit)! Amen? Yes, amen!

I love Paul Washer, and I wish that we would hear more preaching like this in our churches. This is the Gospel - not the watered down easy believism that we get week-after-week from the pulpits of most of our churches.

Thank you for the link to sermonaudio.com! Oh, man, I really, really appreciate Paul's preaching and his heart - now that's LOVE! I copped a saying a couple of years ago when I noticed people in the church ACCEPTING sin: "We have to be so careful not to 'love' people right into hell!" (See the referenced Scriptures in my post named "A Watchman... Then and Now...") Accepting sin is like watching someone drink arsenic in front of you and you don't say a word to them... sin is accepted because they're afraid of rejection or being told that they're 'weird,' 'judgmental,' 'crazy,' etc. That kind of temporal fear may cost someone their eternal life. :(
Gotta stop by your blog during my quiet-time with God tomorrow morning - I really enjoy meditating on the Scriptures you present and the points you make.
