Blessed Israel... Recepient of the Promise... What Is Going On?

Months ago, the Israeli government raided my dearest friend's home as well as their neighbor's homes.

Why?

I'll tell you why... to confiscate their gas masks. All gas masks were taken from Israeli citizens and from those identified as pro-Israel - those who are absolutely supportive of Israel as a nation.

All gas masks were confiscated from my friends and their children in lieu of a promise to replace them... which has not yet happened.

In addition to the situation with the gas masks, I received an email a couple of months ago regarding the confiscation of guns from Israeli citizens living in "settlements".

Why would the Israeli government confiscate guns and gas masks from its citizens - from those who love Israel and who have sent and lost loved ones for the sake of Israel's existence? Why?

What is the Israeli government thinking?

...The ONLY thing I can attribute this type of egregious line-of-thinking and action to is the fact that God is allowing "men" to expend themselves on all known [self-sufficient] measures in trying to defend themselves and the existence of the Nation of Israel.

Once "men" are at the end of themselves, God will show up. God will follow through. It is God who will follow through on the execution of His promises! Israel, the decedents of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, will indeed inherit the promises! Blessed be His holy Name forever!

One of my favourite quotes by the blessed Rabbi Kahane HY"D was:

"For so long as the Jew has even one ally, he will be convinced - in his smallness of mind - that his salvation came from that ally. It is only when he is alone - against all of his own efforts and frantic attempts - that he will, through no choice, be compelled to turn to G-d."

G-d is trying to make us see that there is none but Him. Israel, trust HaShem.

BTW, have you seen my new blog?

BK,
This week's parasha served as an excellent reminder that it truly is G-d who saves! Although, Pharaoh is in pursuit and it looks as if the enemy is gaining, the L-RD will not fail to deliver Israel and keep His covenant promises! Blessed be His holy Name forever!

And the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon. And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians were marching after them; and they were sore afraid; and the children of Israel cried out unto HaShem. (Exodus (Shemot) 14:9-10)

And Moses said unto the people: 'Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of HaShem, which He will work for you to-day; for whereas ye have seen the Egyptians to-day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. HaShem will fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.' (Shemot14:13-14)

Thus HaShem saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea-shore. And Israel saw the great work which HaShem did upon the Egyptians, and the people feared HaShem; and they believed in HaShem, and in His servant Moses. (Shemot 14:30-31)

Thou in Thy love hast led the people that Thou hast redeemed; Thou hast guided them in Thy strength to Thy holy habitation. The peoples have heard, they tremble; pangs have taken hold on the inhabitants of Philistia. Then were the chiefs of Edom affrighted; the mighty men of Moab, trembling taketh hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan are melted away. Terror and dread falleth upon them; by the greatness of Thine arm they are as still as a stone; till Thy people pass over, O HaShem, till the people pass over that Thou hast gotten. Thou bringest them in, and plantest them in the mountain of Thine inheritance, the place, O HaShem, which Thou hast made for Thee to dwell in, the sanctuary, O L-rd, which Thy hands have established. HaShem shall reign for ever and ever. (Shemot 15:13-18)

Amen v' amen!
